What is DPI and why does it matter?
DPI (dots per inch) refers to the number of dots per inch and defines print resolution. The higher the DPI value, the sharper and more detailed the print will be.
Standard resolution for photo printing is 300 DPI, for offset printing 150-300 DPI, and for large format 72-150 DPI.
How to calculate DPI?
DPI is calculated by dividing the number of pixels by the physical dimension in inches: DPI = pixels / inches. Our calculator automatically converts between pixels, physical dimensions and DPI.
