Door wrap restoration

Context. Front doors of a private home. Their factory decorative coating bubbled, started peeling and cracking under sun exposure.

Brief. Restore the look without replacing the door. The client asked directly: can this be saved. Replacement is not just the cost of new doors. It brings construction dust, plaster repair around the frame, paint, post-work cleanup.

Idea. Renovation with automotive-grade wrapping film as an alternative, not a compromise. Same visual finish as a factory coating, a fraction of the replacement cost, no interference with the surroundings.

Execution. Avery Dennison Supreme Wrapping Film, Satin Metallic Hans Brown. Cast film of the same class used on full car wraps. Holds shape on edges, profiles, and detail around the glass. UV-stability matched to a sun-facing entrance.

Outcome. Doors look new. Construction, lock, the leaded glass inside, all untouched. Frame and plaster intact.
